About Us
The Wooden Spoon is located in the oldest home in Plano. The Forman house was built in 1867. In 1992 it was purchased to become the new home of the Wooden Spoon, which began in McKinney in 1988. After eight years of renovation, the house is filled with imported and domestic gifts and food from the Scandinavian countries. Classes in the languages, the arts, and handicrafts are taught. Local artists can sell their paintings, carvings, handwork, etc. A consignment shop, The Sugar Spoon, sells pre-owned Scandinavian items.

We are dedicated to helping keep the culture alive. We help with genealogy, translations, projects for students of all ages, and serve as a liaison to connect you with your needs.

Our gift line changes but also remains traditional. We offer gifts from all the countries so you are sure to find something in your price range and your heritage.
We keep Christmas year around, so you can always find the traditional candle holders, Advent candles, flag garlands, and much more.

We want your experience to be a pleasant one when you shop the Wooden Spoon. The coffee is on and the cookies are waiting to be sampled. Stop in real often so we can keep the Wooden Spoon stirring.

Our hours of operation are Mon-Sat. 10:00 AM-5:00 PM and Sundays 1-5 From October 13  through December 22 Please feel free to call or email us with questions.  972-424-6867 orgwen@woodenspoon.ws
